Initiated as a cross-brand project for Unilever’s Dental Team the intent was to create a range of toothbrushes in which only the head needed to be replaced thereby saving thousands of tons of plastic per annum.
This was another Unilever project in which designs had to work across more than one brand - in this case Signal and Zendium. Several structural aesthetics were created as moodboards from which concepts were created. GEO was one of the aesthetics chosen for progression.

The concept needed to use a known interface between toothbrush neck and handle. There was more than one potential supplier whose technology we may have to integrate - each with their own approach to this junction. The subtle geometry of each was something we had to consider during the concept development.

The project was undertaken in a freelance capacity through Brown&Co.
The development of the bristle array was undertaken by a separate company and the final product went on to win an IF Design award in 2021.
